HOUSTON – Houston Rockets players Chandler Parsons and Jeremy Lin displayed star power off the court on Tuesday, Jan. 7 as they dedicated new computers to the East West Bank Technology Center at MacGregor Elementary School.
Both players joined East West Bank’s Emily Wang to cut the ribbon. East West Bank donated $12,000 to purchase new computers for the school’s computer lab as part of last season’s “Save Smart, Score Big financial literacy program.
“We had a lab before, but it was not functional,” said Dr. Patricia Allen, Macgregor’s principal. “The children are very excited about the lab.”
Parsons and Lin made their rounds in the new lab after cutting the ribbon and even assisted some of the students with their schoolwork.
The children had no idea both players would be in attendance and continued to grin from ear to ear after the event.
“We are really appreciative of their contribution to our school,” Allen said.
