SAN ANTONIO -- Spurs center Tiago Splitter will stay with the Silver and Black through 2017, a source revealed to KENS 5 sports director Joe Reinagel.
The deal reportedly stands at $36 million over a four-year period. The offer would be a substantial increase for Splitter, who joined the team in 2010 and made $3.67 million this past season.
Splitter, a key component of the Spurs' defensive strategy, also has improved his offensive output in the past season. Tiago reportedly is being sought by several teams during the upcoming free agency signing period.
The deal reportedly cannot be made official by the team until July 15.
