HOUSTON - The Houston Dynamo loaned midfielder Alex Dixon to the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the North American Soccer League, the team announced on Friday.
The loan is effective immediately and will expire on May 5, at which time Dixon will return to the Dynamo.
Dixon, 23, appeared in four regular season games, including one start, in 2012. He also started eight MLS Reserve League games, scoring two goals and notching three assists, helping the Dynamo win the Central/Mountain Division title.
The Atascocita High School graduate is one of five players from the Dynamo Academy to have signed a homegrown contract since 2009.
Dixon becomes the second Dynamo player to be sent on loan this season after midfielder Brian Ownby was loaned to USL-Pro side Richmond Kickers last month.
