HOUSTON -- The Beren Academy basketball team is ready for the state tournament.
The Orthodox Jewish school in southwest Houston is back in the playoffs for a second straight year.
Last year, the team made headlines when a group of parents had to file a lawsuit in order to reschedule a playoff game that fell on the Sabbath.
After losing four starters from last year’s state finals team, Beren Academy was the surprise team in this year’s tournament.
