Coach Mike Kramer's ladies are 23-3, ranked 6th in the state thanks in part from almost 18 points a game from Zoe Rogers.

"She's the offensive threat," notes Kramer. "Lefty, 6'1", she can bring you out on the perimeter and that's what hurts you."

"Last year we had a lot seniors on the team," says Rogers. "We had six or seven seniors so I didn't feel I had the authority to do as much, and this year I knew I had to pick it up."

Despite having a bullseye on their back, the Lady Cardinals have a spotless 7-0 record in district. But they also have a lot of talent. Basketball is in the genes at Bellaire. Annette Davis's Dad is former Pacers star Antonio Davis while Bianca Winslow Dad is Rickie Winslow of phi slama jama fame.

"My mom says ever time I play she says you look like your Dad," commented Annette. "Facial expressions and stuff, but as far as playing we're both big bangers and get up and down the court a lot."

"He's tall so he can jump and can dunk," adds Bianca. "Well obviously I can't do that, but it's basically the same defense. He plays good defense, I play good defense so that's what we have in common."

At Bellaire, the basketball doesn't fall far from the tree.
