HOUSTON – The Houston Texans have elected not to put the franchise tag on cornerback Dunta Robinson, ending the often tumultuous relationship between the two sides. Robinson declined a contract extension at the start of 2009 that would have given him $23 million guaranteed. Robinson though declined it and the Texans placed the franchise tag on him then, which led to the cornerback to hold out all of camp. Robinson can now become an unrestricted free agent starting March 5. The story was first reported by our news partner, the Houston Chronicle.
