HOUSTON – After four seasons, Darrell Asberry has stepped down as head coach at Texas Southern. He informed the university of his decision on Sunday night.
The Tigers wrapped up a disappointing 3-7 season on Saturday with a 38-7 loss to Alabama A&M.
"Over the course of the past four years, Coach Asberry has been a true professional and someone I will always call a friend," TSU athletic director Charles McClelland said. "We wish him well in all of his future endeavors."
Asberry came to TSU back in 2012 and compiled a 12-31 record with the Tigers during that span.
