Whose house? Coogs fans takeover H-Town

Paul Wall headlined a kickoff party at Bagby Park as the UH Cougars get set to open their season against the Oklahoma Sooners.

Excitement is in the air all over Houston Friday night as the University of Houston Cougars get ready to face off against Oklahoma Saturday.

But the party got started Friday night in Midtown.

Local rapper and hometown favorite Paul Wall was the main attraction at Friday's Bud Light Party in the Park at Bagby Park.

Cheerleaders, band members and fans from both schools were in attendance.

Chad Wells drove 12 hours from Oklahoma for the game.

"Sooner football is the best—no better," Wells said. "Houston is 15 vs. number 3. First game of the year it's the place to be right here."

The Blikmann's just stumbled on the party. They're in town from Minnesota and not fans of either team.

"We looked up things to do and this showed up so we came," Lisa Blinkmann said

They joined in the beer pong-like game along with all the other fun things to do, like rap battles and dancing.

The winner of the "wobble" contest was on crutches and she got a free sideline pass to go to the game.
