Texas A&M QB Trevor Knight out for regular season with shoulder injury

Texas A&M starting quarterback Trevor Knight will miss the rest of the 2016 regular season, coach Kevin Sumlin announced Tuesday. Knight suffered a shoulder injury in the second quarter of the Aggies' 35-28 loss to Mississippi State in Week 10.

Junior QB Jake Hubenak, who passed for 222 yards in the loss to Mississippi State, will start in replace of Knight. On Saturday, the Aggies take on Ole Miss, which also lost its starting quarterback, Chad Kelly.

Knight transferred from Oklahoma to play his final season for the Aggies. He threw for 1,911 yards and 13 touchdowns through nine games.

Sumlin didn't rule out the possibility of Knight's return for a bowl game. Texas A&M was in last week's initial College Football Playoff rankings top four, but will likely plummet after last weekend's loss.
