HOUSTON – The Houston Cougars will be saying goodbye to Robertson Stadium when they play their final game at the old facility against Tulane on Saturday.

Robertson was built in 1941 and opened the following year under the name ‘Houston Public Sports Stadium’. The Cougars started playing there in 1946-1950.

After a long stretch of games at the Astrodome, UH moved back into Robertson in 1995 and have stayed there ever since.

KHOU 11 Sports reporter Daniel Gotera looks back at the history of Cougar football at Robertson Stadium.
