Texas Southern falls at Grambling State 47-33

GRAMBLING, La. - Frank Warren and Cornelius Walker both scored two touchdowns and Grambling State snapped Texas Southern’s three-game winning streak, 47-33 on Thursday night.

Warren caught a 25-yard pass from Greg Dillon with 8:06 to play and Dillon threw a pass to Bakari Maxwell for a 2-point conversion to give Grambling (6-4, 4-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference) a 40-33 lead.

Walker scored on a 3-yard run with 32 seconds left.

Joe Anderson had two catches for touchdowns for Texas Southern (4-5, 3-2) -- a 22-yarder for the game’s first score and a 42-yarder with 3:35 left in the third quarter that brought Texas Southern within 32-27.

Martin Gilbert’s 17-yard run gave Texas Southern a 33-32 lead 55 seconds into the fourth quarter.

Nelson was 21 of 39 for 262 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions.
