HOUSTON -- It was a roller coaster of emotion for Texas Southern fans. For the first time in eleven years, the Tigers danced in the NCAA tournament and played Cal Poly in Dayton, Ohio.

Alumni and fans reunited at the Prospect Park sports bar to watch the team.

"This is history right here, so I definitely wanted to cheer on the tigers," said a Thurgood Marshall Law Student.

But the Tigers fell short.

“Everybody knew who they were going to, their best player every time. I just feel like the other team played a better team defense than we did," said John Rochon, a TSU alumnus. "They went out there and gave it their all. It just wasn’t good enough this time.”

Fans and alumni said they look forward to next year.

"With TSU, the coach we have, we might be able to make it back next year," said Matthew Edison, a TSU alumnus. "We are still just out here supporting TSU and the great milestone that they’ve accomplished this season."
