HOUSTON – UH cornerback D.J. Hayden remains in the hospital after undergoing surgery earlier this week for a life-threatening injury he sustained during practice.
Hayden had surgery to repair a tear in the main blood vessel that leads into the heart. He was listed in stable but critical condition in the Memorial Hermann ICU.
Hayden played high school football at Elkins before signing with the Cougars and becoming their defensive captain.
