COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M opened up their spring practice on Friday as life without Johnny Manziel at quarterback is officially underway.

Three quarterbacks will be under center during the spring and then during fall camp, with the competition to see who will earn the starting spot sure to be exciting.

Matt Joeckel and Kenny Hill return from last season and both of them will be up against highly touted prospect Kyle Allen.

However, while the battle to see who will start at quarterback is exciting, the defense is a unit Kevin Sumlin and his coaching staff will definitely keep an eye on. Last year, the Aggies ranked last in the SEC, giving up 222 yards per game rushing.
