HOUSTON, TX -Astros right-handed pitcher Roy Oswalt was examined by Dr. Andrew Dossett at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas today.

Dr. Dossett, an orthopedic surgeon, concurred with the initial diagnosis provided by the Houston medical staff and recommended that Oswalt continue his exercise regiment and rest.

Under that treatment, Oswalt should be ready for 2010 Spring Training in Kissimmee, Florida.

Last week in Houston, Dr. Mike McCann diagnosed Oswalt with a bulging disk and inflammation of a joint in his lower back. Oswalt last pitched on Sept. 15 at Cincinnati and will not pitch for the remainder of the 2009 season.
