Lee needs fan vote to become an All-Star
08:51 PM CDT on Monday, July 7, 2008
Lance Berkman will start in the All-Star game, Miguel Tejada is a reserve, but Carlos Lee needs some help.
Lee is among five players who are awaiting word on the final roster spot for the National League.
AP
Carlos Lee has a .293 average with 20 home runs this season.
The Phillies Pat Burrell, the Brewers Corey Hart, the Giants Aarond Rowand, and the Mets David Wright are the others.
Lee says it's always an honor to play in the All-Star game, but he is also philosophical. If he doesn't win the spot, he'll get a break and be able to go home to his native Panama.
Astros fans have come out in force before. You may remember pitcher Roy Oswalt was selected for the final roster spot in 2005.
