AUSTIN – The Texas Longhorns lost two big pieces on Sunday when it was learned that running back Johnathan Gray and defensive tackle Chris Whaley are out for the season.
Gray sustained an Achilles injury in the 3rd quarter of UT’s 47-40 overtime win at West Virginia. Whaley was carted off in the 1st half with a knee inury.
Both players will have surgery that will end their season.
Gray was the team’s leading rusher on the season with 780 yards on 150 carries and 4 touchdowns.
