HOUSTON – Next Tuesday, one of the big items on the agenda for the University of Houston Board of Regents meeting is a huge renovation and expansion of Hofheinz Pavilion.

This is what the exterior will look like if the $77,450,000 project is approved.

Hofheinz was built in 1970 and the upgrade is seen by many as a requirement if the Cougars are to be competitive in their new conference this season and beyond.

The vote is Tuesday.

Last year, the university approved the construction of a new football stadium which is expected to be ready by the start of the 2014 season.
