HOUSTON -- The University of Houston has revoked the scholarship of signee Deondre Skinner, who was charged this week with having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Skinner, 19, from Patterson, La., was arrested Tuesday and charged with having carnal knowledge of a juvenile, a felony, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was released on $5,000 bond.
Skinner initially committed to Arkansas, then signed a letter of intent with Houston in February. The school confirmed on Friday that Skinner’s scholarship had been revoked.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Skinner was a highly ranked national recruit out of high school. He caught 58 passes for 810 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior.
