HOUSTON – The Houston Texans have signed hometown products, running back Javarris Williams and wide receiver Devard Darling, to the active roster. Williams attended Foster High School in Richmond and Darling went to Stephen F. Austin High School in Fort Bend County. "My agent called me and told me the Texans wanted to sign me," said Williams. "I went up, signed my contract and now I am ready to play; This is very exciting for me." "It’s just, I can’t even explain it right now, man," said Darling, who tore his coming back from a serious knee injury. "Just to come out here and be a part of this team and to put this Texans helmet on, it means a lot to me." Head coach Gary Kubiak says the two new players, especially Darling, will get a chance to play and make the team given the amount of injuries that those two positions have sustained this training camp. "It’s hard, but it’s fair right now. He’s going to play. I just told him a while ago, ‘you grab 10 things you know you can do and we’ll make sure we run those 10 things,’" said Kubiak. He’s got a chance."
