HOUSTON – The Houston Texans met with Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel after his stellar NFL pro day performance in College Station on Thursday.
Texans officials are not saying much about their meeting with Manziel, but did say that they did not hold a private workout with the quarterback. General Manager Rick Smith told HoustonTexans.com that they will bring in Manziel to Houston for another meeting before the NFL Draft.
The Texans are looking to fill a need at quarterback through the draft after last week’s trade of former starter Matt Schaub. The team signed former Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick for depth at the position.
The Texans have not said whether they will use the first overall selection on a new signal-caller or on another position of need.
