HOUSTON – The deadline for NFL teams to place the franchise tag on one of their players passed on Monday without the Houston Texans making a move.

The team elected not to use the franchise tag for the 2014 season.

Only four teams across the NFL placed the designation on one of its players. Jimmy Graham of New Orleans, Brian Orakpo from Washington, Nick Folk from the New York Jets and Greg Hardy from Carolina all received the franchise tag.

Free agency in the NFL starts on March 11th.
