HOUSTON -- Texans safety Ed Reed threw a Louisiana-style shrimp boil at Bonfire Wings in Houston Saturday. Reed himself is a Louisiana native.
Teammates Antonio Smith, Owen Daniels, Johnathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson were among the dozen players who showed up.
It was to celebrate their Friday preseason win over the Minnesota Vikings.
At the same time, many people are wondering how soon Reed may return to the field. The future Hall of Famer is still recovering from a surgical procedure on his hip.
“It’s really tough what happened,” he said. “That soreness is still there, you know. And knowing everything I got to do to get it out right now; that’s the most important thing is getting all that out of my body.”
It is still not clear if he will be ready for the team’s season opener next month in San Diego.
