HOUSTON – Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt announced Tuesday the launch of the J.J. Watt Charity Classic to benefit the Justin J Watt Foundation.

The event will be held on April 27, at Constellation Field in Sugar Land. The event will start at noon with a home run derby and followed by a softball game with offensive and defensive players from the Texans facing off on opposing teams.

Tickets for the event go on sale at 9 a.m. on March 15 at the Constellation Field box office and online www.sugarlandskeeters.com.

There will also be a silent auction with items up for bid like autographed apparel, autographed game-day memorabilia and an “experience package” to sit in the dugout during an inning of the softball game. Watt merchandise will also be available for sale.

The funds raised will benefit the Justin J Watt Foundation. The mission of the foundation is “to provide after-school opportunities for children in the community to become involved in athletics, so that they may learn the basic character traits of accountability, teamwork, leadership, work ethic and perseverance while in a safe and supervised environment with their peers,” according to a press release.
