HOUSTON – Houston Texans defensive lineman Antonio Smith calls the state of Oklahoma home. He went to Oklahoma State, played for the Cowboys and goes back during the off-season.

He, like many others from the state, has a heavy heart this week.

"You’re heart has to go out to those families that wasn’t so fortunate and lost loved ones especially with the kids in the school," said Smith.

The veteran defensive end has family in the affected area, but luckily everyone made it out safely.

"I checked with my family and everybody, other than property damage, the most important thing was that everyone was all right," said Smith. "I had some family members lose their houses, but they have their lives so I’m feeling blessed for that."

Smith was shocked when he heard the news of the storm, but growing up in a state like Oklahoma; he is accustomed to the bouts of bad weather.

"I think, if I can remember in my life, it seems like every five years we get a big one like that that come through there," says Smith. "Unfortunately, it takes that path by Moore and goes through the city."
