HOUSTON - Rice senior guard Connor Frizzelle was able to walk with his parents to center court during Senior Day activities before the Owls faced Houston. That moment was the culmination of four of the most trying years any family could face.

Frizzelle's mother and father were involved in a head on crash when he was a freshman. Soon after, his dad was diagnosed with cancer and had massive stroke, that left him unable to move or speak.

Throughout all of this, Frizzelle has had to balance being with his family and playing the sport he loves. It has made him stronger and has given him a sense of purpose in life as after he graduates he plans on working for a hospital to help patients, like his father, get back to being themselves.

KHOU 11 Sports reporter Daniel Gotera caught up with Connor and his family to find out their story.
