HOUSTON – The Houston Chronicle was the first to report on Monday that the Houston Rockets have retained role player Troy Daniels.

The team has not officially announced the move but Daniels took to Twitter to say he’s coming back to where his NBA career launched last year.

Daniels became a very valuable piece to the Rockets rotation in the playoff series against the Portland Trail Blazers. He played in 4 games during the postseason, averaging 7.8 points including a game winning three-pointer in Game 3 in Portland.

He hit 8 of 15 three pointers in the playoffs and is expected to have that same sharp-shooting role of the bench next year for the Rockets.
