HOUSTON – Several assistant coaches who worked under Bill O’Brien at Penn State have left the program and will join the coach’s staff with the Houston Texans.

Multiple media outlets have confirmed the news including ESPN and CBS Sports.

According to the report, John Butler, Stan Hixon, Charles London and Anthony Midget all submitted their resignation on Monday and are planning on taking positions in Houston.

In addition to the Penn State coaches, the NFL Network reported that O’Brien plans on hiring Iowa Hawkeyes offensive line coach Brian Ferentz for the same job with the Texans.

Ferentz is the son of Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz and will replace John Benton, who was let go by O’Brien over the weekend.

Defensive line coach Bill Kollar is the only assistant left from the Texans 2013 staff.
