HOUSTON – The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the sale of the Houston Astros to businessman Jim Crane is expected to be completed at the upcoming owners meetings in Milwaukee.

The meetings are scheduled to take place on November 15th and 16th.

It has been six months since current owner Drayton McLane and Crane agreed to the sale worth around $680 million and the two sides have been waiting for approval from MLB to complete the deal.

The vote was scheduled to take place a couple of months back in Cooperstown, but was pushed back because of concerns surrounding Crane and his ownership group.

Another issue reportedly being discussed now is a possible move by the team to the American League if and/or when Crane takes over. It is a decision that has not been welcomed at all by fans, some of which have started a website petitioning MLB commissioner Bud Selig to keep the Astros in the National League, where they have always been.
