NEW ORLEANS - Reggie Bush and the New Orleans Saints got off to a running start against the Houston Texans.

Bush totaled 38 yards on their opening drive, including a 9-yard touchdown run to give the defending Super Bowl champions an early 7-0 lead.

Trindon Holliday fumbled a punt return after the Texans forced the Saints to punt on their second possession and Drew Brees punched it in from the 1-yard line to give the Saints a 14-0 lead.

The Texans though responded on their next drive. Taking advantage of several Saints penalties, Houston was able to get it in the endzone thanks to a 10-yard run by Arian Foster.

Foster fumbled on the next Texans drive and the Saints capitalized as Pierre Thomas found the endzone from 31 yards out on a screen pass from back-up and former Missouri tiger quarterback Chase Daniel. Daniel threw another TD pass right before the first half ended.

Neil Rackers nailed a 52-yard field goal to make it 21-10 late in the second quarter. Kris Brown added a 43 yard field goal in the third quarter to make it 28-13.

In the fourth quarter, Dan Orlovsky found rookie tight end Garrett Graham in the back corner of the endzone which cut the Saints lead to 35-20.

The Saints and the Texans are meeting for the second straight pre-season. The two teams are hoping to continue the series in the pre-season over the years to come.
