HOUSTON -- Astros prospect Delino DeShields Jr. tweeted what looks to be a very painful situation: his mouth extremely swollen following a pitch to the face on Friday night.
The Houston Chronicle reports DeShields has a non-displaced maxillary sinus fracture.
Despite the injury, he still managed to force a smile and thumbs up for the tweeted photo.
“To anyone that is concerned as you can see I’m doing fantastic! Blessed to see another day!” he said in the tweet.
DeShields, hitting .259 with two homers and four RBIs, is the Class AA Corpus Christi Hooks starting center fielder, the Chron reports.
