BAYTOWN, TX – The drag racers are back in Baytown this weekend and there is some local talent that will be on display. Cy Springs High product Erica Enders is one of the most accomplished drivers in the NHRA Pro-stock division. 27-year-old Shawn Langdon, who grew up in Southern California, is one of the hottest drivers in the NHRA Top Fuel Division. These two young drivers come from different backgrounds, but they have one major thing in common. They have been racing since they were little. "It’s a dream come true," says Enders. "I have known Shawn since I was 8 years old so we go way back." "I was still racing in the sportsman categories when she made it up to pro stock so it was cool to watch her be successful and watch her do well in her career as well," says Langdon. Langdon now lives in Indiana so he can live closer to his sponsor, Lucas Oil. For Enders, Houston Raceway Park is still her home track and she believes her new Ford Mustang is primed for victory. "I sure hope so," says Enders. "That is our plan every weekend but it would be great to do it in front of the hometown crowd. I won this event back in 2004 so I definitely know the race track and it’s home to me." Qualifying begins on Friday and the finals are Sunday.
