HOUSTON – Some of the best talent in the NBA is making it’s way to Houston this week for the start of the Nike Pro City Summer League, which kicked off on Monday at Fonde Rec Center.

The current and former NBA players are joined annually in the league by some of the best amateur talent in the city.

Some of the names expected to come out this year are former Willowridge star TJ Ford and current NBA stars like Maurice Evans, Glen "Big Baby" Davis, Josh Smith and many more.

The games are free for anyone that would like to attend.

"It’s fantastic to come out here and do it for the city," said Ford. "You know a lot of pros are coming in to play and Nike is sponsoring it and it creates a fan base for the people that can’t watch us play throughout the season so it’s always fun to come back and play in front of your hometown."

The games run through August 18.
