SUGAR LAND - On Thursday, May 22 beginning at 7:05 p.m., right-handed pitcher Tracy McGrady will make his second professional start for the Sugar Land Skeeters against the Atlantic League’s York Revolution.

Gates open at 6 p.m., as the Skeeters host their new Thirsty Thursday promotion with $2 beers and sodas. It’s also Zombie Night at Constellation Field, where free tickets will be given to any patrons dressed as zombies upon arrival.

Thursday’s start will mark McGrady’s second regular season appearance with Sugar Land. The 6-foot-8 right-hander made his first start on May 10 against the Somerset Patriots, allowing two runs on two hits over 1.2 innings of work. In Spring Training, McGrady also threw 1.0 inning against Alvin Community College on April 16, allowing one run on three hits.

McGrady, 34, spent 16 years in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors (1997-2000), Orlando Magic (2000-04), Houston Rockets (2004-09), New York Knicks (2009-10), Detroit Pistons (2010-11) and Atlanta Hawks (2011-12).

During that span, McGrady earned two scoring titles (2002-04), seven All-Star Game nominations (2001-07) and was named the NBA’s Most Improved Player in 2001. In 2013, McGrady retired with more than 18,000 points and 5,000 rebounds in his career.
