HOUSTON – He’s big, he’s bad, he’s blonde. And thanks to those long, lovely locks, Linebacker Brooks Reed has quickly become one of the most recognizable Houston Texans on the field.

As a rookie last year, Reed was one of the breakout stars on the Texans "Bulls on Parade" defense.

Cosmo just named him one of "The Hottest Guys of the NFL."

But this season, Reed is sharing the spotlight with… his hair. In fact, the strawberry blonde hair now has its own Twitter page. "I am Brooks Reed’s Hair. Im [sic] long, blonde, and wonderful. Don’t hate. Pass the Axe shampoo. I will offend you or I will break you," says the description.

We checked with the Texans, who checked with Reed, who said he has nothing to do with the page.

But he is following it.

"GOD!!! BROOKS REED IS FOLLOWING ME!!!" the hair tweeted last week. "Gotta keep it suave... Gotta keep it suave.. Thanks pal! #awkwardmoment," the hair tweeted last week."

Brooks Reed’s Hair tweets about football and the Texans, but the hair is the "mane" event.

Here are a few more examples from the fascinating life and times of Brooks Reed’s Hair:

  • "Sporting the pony tail. And im [sic] not "horsing" around."
  • "Q: What did the helmet say to the hair? A: Nothing you dumba$$, helmets don’t talk."
  • "Long, Blonde, and Beautiful... yep that’s me!!"
