HOUSTON – Everything in Uptown Park’s University Co-Op store is all about the Texas Longhorns, and everything UT these days is all about Mack Brown.
Every other day there seems to be reports that after 16 years Mack Brown is done being the head coach at his beloved University of Texas.
Some alumni say he should stay.
“He just needs to get the right players, the right schedule and it will all come back together. Hook ‘em Horns, man!” Andrew Brams, a UT graduate, said.
However, plenty of college football fans that KHOU 11 News talked, which were mostly Aggies, said Brown should move on.
There is also plenty of talk about who would take Brown’s place. The name that keeps coming up is Alabama’s Nick Saban.
“I would love to have Nick Saban. He looks like Don Johnson,” Behany Coots, a Saban admirer, said.
Texas booster Red McCombs is quoted as saying he likes UT’s chances of wooing Saban.
“All the money that’s not under the Vatican is at UT,” McCombs said.
