SAN ANTONIO -- The Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber visited San Antonio Tuesday to meet with Mayor Julian Castro and San Antonio Scorpions owner Gordan Hartman to discuss a potential MLS expansion in the Alamo City.

The MLS is looking to expand to 24 clubs by 2020 and only three slots are left to fill. Both Castro and Hartman have publicly campaigned to get one of those remaining spots but admit competition is tough.

The Scorpions have averaged more than 7,000 fans at home matches over the last two years, the best among their league.
