TAIWAN – Houston Rockets guard Jeremy Lin was in Taiwain recently, addressing a crowd of about 20,000 people at a Christian Youth Conference.

In addition to his faith, Lin talked about several items, including his first year in Houston.

During the speech, Lin said – “I was ready to invigorate the entire city of Houston. I was supposed to save Houston basketball.”

The Rockets points guard talked about his frustrations in trying to live up to all the hype surrounding him.

He continued by saying – “I became so obsessed with becoming a great basketball player, trying to live up to Linsanity, being this phenomenon that took the NBA by storm. The coaches were losing faith in me and basketball fans were making fun of me.”

Lin later told the group that he feels better now than he has in a long time. He says he is no longer seeking the approval of others.
