HOUSTON – The two Class 5A high school football championship games will feature teams from the Houston area as Katy and Pearland are each headed to Cowboys Stadium.

The Tigers got out to a 24-0 halftime lead and never looked back. Katy rushed for 255 yards in the first half while the defense held SA Johnson to only 26 total yards.
Katy (15-0) will face Cedar Hill (13-2) in a rematch of last year’s title game at 8 pm at Cowboys Stadium on December 21st.
Pearland is back in the state title game for the first time since they won it all back in 2010 as they held on to beat San Antonio Madison, 38-34 at Waco ISD Stadium.
The Oilers trailed 24-10 in the 3rd quarter, but then went on a 21-3 run to take a 31-27 lead in the 4th quarter. Madison scored to go back on top, 34-31, but with under 2 minutes to play, Jacoby Lewis returned the ensuing kick-off 97 yards for the go-ahead and winning score.
Pearland (14-1) will face defending champ Allen (15-0) on December 21st at 4 pm. Allen defeated Lamar last year to claim the title.
