HOUSTON – The Houston Texans were warning fans on Friday to be on the lookout for counterfeit tickets to Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

The team encouraged fans to turn to the NFL Ticket Exchange, powered by TicketMaster, rather than purchasing tickets on the secondary market.

The NFL Ticket Exchange is the only NFL-approved ticket resale marketplace and has the exclusive ability to electronically validate every ticket sold.

"We want to remind fans that the only authorized outlets for Texans tickets are the Texans Ticket Office, Ticketmaster and the NFL Ticket Exchange," said John Schriever, Texans vice president of ticketing and events services. "Purchasing tickets from other sources, such as Craigslist or eBay, is done at the buyer’s own risk. We also want to remind our fans that selling tickets on Reliant Park grounds is illegal."

Fans who still plan on purchasing tickets on the secondary market should scrutinize their tickets closely for any inaccuracies or alterations, and cross-check the seat assignment and price with a stadium map printed from houstontexans.com.

According to TicketMaster’s NFL Buzz report, the Texans-Cowboys showdown is the most popular matchup and the most sought-after ticket in the league this weekend.

The NFL Ticket Exchange can be found online at ticketmaster.com and nfl.com. Fans can also call the customer service department at 1-88-635-5944.
