HOUSTON - The Univeristy of Houston Men's and Women's basketball teams met with the media this week as part of the school's Annual Media day event.

In his sixth season, Tom Penders is looking to get the program over the hump. Last season, the Cougars went 21-12, but they are looking to take the next step in the their development. They do lose a couple of big guys down low, but Kelvin Lewis and Aubrey Coleman hope to push them into the tournament.

On the Women's side, they return a lot of juniors and they will be the ones that will have to lead the way. They have been picked to finish in the top 3 of CUSA, but coach Joe Curl knows that their tough non-conference schedule will test them along the way.
