AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Jarrey Foster and Kerwin Roach made four free throws in the final 18 seconds and Galena Park North Shore survived a wild finish to beat DeSoto 48-45 Friday in a Class 5A semifinal.

After blocking a shot by Cedric Carson with 19 seconds left, Foster made two free throws to push North Shore’s lead to three. Carson then cut it to one with a baseline layup.

North Shore (34-3) got the ball to Roach who was fouled and made both free throws before DeSoto committed its 26th turnover with 4 seconds left.

DeSoto (31-4) had a last desperate chance when Roach tossed the ball to one and DeSoto’s Julian Miranda chased it down for an off-balance 3-pointer.

The shot missed but North Shore knocked it out of bounds with .7 seconds left. Miranda’s final fall-away 3-pointer at the buzzer fell short.
