HOUSTON – Former UH cornerback DJ Hayden worked out for 10 NFL teams on Monday, including the Texans, as his stock continues to rise 3 days before the 2013 NFL Draft.

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan was also in attendance.

Hayden, who missed the last month of his senior season because of a freak accident he sustained during practice, is being projected to go as high as #28 by ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. to the Denver Broncos.

At the start of the draft process, many believed Hayden was a solid third or fourth round pick, especially considering the type of injury he sustained. Hayden tore the main artery leading into the heart during a collision at practice in early November.

The NFL Draft starts on Thursday, April 25 at 7 pm on ESPN.
