HOUSTON – Last year, the Rice Owls saw two of their team leaders get drafted.
This weekend, former tight ends Luke Willson and Vance McDonald will be back on the same field together. However, they’ll be on different sidelines.
McDonald, who was drafted in the second round by the San Francsico 49ers has caught 8 passes for 119 yards during his rookie years. Willson, who was drafted in the 5th round by the Seattle Seahawks has caught 20 passes for 272 yards and one touchdown.
In addition to being teammates at Rice, the two were roommates. The university put together a video featuring the two tight ends and can be found here.
