HOUSTON – Former Houston Astro Lance Berkman is not the biggest fan of the Friendly Confines on Chicago’s North Side.
Now with the Rangers, Berkman was asked what he thought of historic Wrigley Field and he didn’t hold back on his answer.
"If they’re looking for a guy to push the button when they blow the place up, I’ll do it," Berkman told the Fort Worth Star Telegram. "Chicago’s one of the worst places in baseball … really for anything," he said.
Berkman has played 177 games at Wrigley Field while he was with the Astros and the Cardinals. His career batting average at Wrigley is .215 with 83 strikeouts in 289 at-bats.
The Rangers are in Chicago this week to play the Cubs for a three game series.
Texas won the opener 4-2.
