HOUSTON – The Texans are gearing up for Monday night football, and while many of us will be sitting in front of the television, some die-hard fans made a trip to the Big Apple to watch them take on the Jets.
To New Yorkers, the Bulls on Parade walking down the street must have looked like freaks on a stroll.
The fans were out in full force in lower Manhattan – on the east side – to make some noise. Most of them planned their trip before the season even started.
Three groups of Texans fans—The Battle Red Freaks, The Real Steel Tailgaters and the Travelin’ Texans—were outside the Idle Hands Bar.
“We put our hearts and souls in this and we are all one family. We are all one family, baby,” one excited fan said.
“We are on our way to New Orleans. Who’s got the roadmap because here we come to the Super Bowl,” another one exclaimed.
Heather Brancatelli brought all the fans together. She lives in New York now, but her heart is with her Southern guys.
“You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take the Texas out of the girl,” she said.
When the Texans football players look up in the stands, there will definitely be a sea of red, white and blue representing.
