HOUSTON – Texans linebacker Brian Cushing was back at Reliant Stadium on Thursday after spending Wednesday in a local hospital as he battled flu-like symptoms.

He did not take part in any team practices on Thursday.

"He’s back. He was in the locker room," said head coach Gary Kubiak. "He’s feeling a lot better. He will be a part of our meeting process tonight, and we’ll evaluate him tomorrow (Friday)."

Cushing started to feel ill during meetings on Tuesday night. He was kept at the hospital as a precaution on Wednesday.

He has not been ruled out for the preseason game on Saturday against the Carolina Panthers.

"Yeah, I think there’s a good chance (he will play)," said Kubiak. "I like to see him go out there and get his reps with the group. I think tomorrow (Friday) is a big day. We know he’s doing well right now. We’ll be in here early tomorrow morning. All indications are that he will."
