HOUSTON – As soon as news that head coach Gary Kubiak had been fired hit the internet, reaction from current and former Texans players came in expressing their thoughts of the move.
“It’s unfortunate because everybody in the locker room is accountable for what’s happened not just Kubiak,” Texans defensive tackle Earl Mitchell said. “It’s been difficult for me (to hear) because he’s the only head coach I’ve ever had. He gave me a chance to start in the NFL.”
“It’s disappointing and sad what’s happened. This season isn’t what we expected but I have the utmost respect for coach Kubiak,” Texans long snapper Jon Weeks said. “He was a great coach to play for. A real players’ coach and I know everybody in the locker room feels the same way.”
