PEARLAND – Pearland Oilers running back Hayden Cole knows only one way to play football. Grab the ball, run hard and punish anyone in front of him.
That bruising style of running, has earned the senior several nicknames.
“My dad always called me the Baby Bull,” Cole said. “I’ve also been called the H-Train, Albino Rhino Great White Buffalo, stuff like that.”
Through 14 games, Cole racked up 326 yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground. Those numbers don’t sound overpowering, but it’s how he gets the yards at critical moments that makes him so valuable.
Cole is also a standout on the baseball team and he isn’t sure which sport he’ll play at the next level. He’s just pretty sure they won’t let him wear a neck roll in the outfield…
Congratulations Hayden Cole for being named our KHOU 11 Sports Honda Athlete of the Week.
