DAYTON - Time to check in with our Athlete of the Week. For that, we head to Dayton to meet a young man who had a stretch of games that only most of us can dream of.
Kevin Roe was in the zone last weekend to him, there’s no better feeling.
The senior catcher for the Broncos went 4-7 with a grand slam, 2 doubles, a single and 6 r-b-I’s but the key to his success wasn’t as easy as he made it look.
But while he prefers being behind the plate as a catcher, Kevin can also pitch. Against CE King, he pitched a complete game, striking out 10. His season ERA is a small 2.10 with 2 saves and 4-0 record.
Kevin’s love of baseball can be traced back to his family. His dad played baseball, his mom softball and both have been a huge influence in his life.
KHOU 11 Sports reporter Daniel Gotera has the story.
